Whenever text is copied or pasted in iTerm2 it is added to the paste history. You can access paste history with cmd-shift-H. It can be filtered by typing a subsequence, and the filter can be cleared by pressing backspace. Once you have the Preferences open, click the Profiles section and then go to the Colors tab in the right panel. Here, you can change every aspect of your terminal’s colouring. In addition, you can set up individual profiles that allow you to have different colours for different terminal windows.

I know this is laziness at it's finest, but one of the things I love about using a Mac, is that at least 50% of everything I do, I can do with a keyboard command. I keep my left hand on the keyboard, and whip through: Cmd + tab, Cmd +1, Cmd +2, Cmd + N, Cmd + T, Cmd + Z, X, C, V, W, Q Shift + Cmd + 7, fn + delete.. et cetera.. Pages for mac remove text editor.
In learning to program, I find myself needing to open a Terminal windows every 30 seconds. I did pin it to the Doc to keep from having to go to Finder > Applications > Terminal.. But I would REALLY love to be able to just press something like: [ Command + Control + O ], and Terminal just opens.
I Googled it, and found this application called iTerm2. Mac apps for curving text in word. It seems cool. It does seem to have a TON of cool features that I am sure I will begin to understand as I learn more. And I thought that it would allow me to do this, but I have to throw in the towel and admit.. I cannot figure out the 'Hotkey' functionality of iTerm2. I do not know if I even CAN configure a hotkey to open iTerm2 from a state of being completely inactive. In Ubuntu, I believe the key command for this is [ Alt + Ctrl + T ].
Anybody got any tips on this?
