This will open a new window called Layout. If you want the image to not align with the text, you must choose an option other than ‘In line with text’. Typing in Microsoft Word is often automatic, as words appear on the page from left to right. In creating the word processing software, Microsoft built in several ways you can take control of that text and set it into other alignments, called justification. Justifying the text in a paragraph aligns the text with both the left and right margins. By default, Word 2013 retains the original character spacing within words but adjusts the space between words to produce the justified effect. Microsoft Word 2013 provides multiple ways to align text inside a document, but these options are not grouped in a single menu or area of the interface. Basic horizontal alignment options, like left, right or centered, are under the Home menu.

Microsoft Word will not normally justify a single line of text becausethe command is designed to justify all but the last line of aparagraph. However, you may justify a single line of text as follows:

- With your cursor in the paragraph or line that you want tojustify, press

on aMacintosh). Alternatively, from the toolbar, click the JustifyText button. - Type or place your cursor at the end of the line of text that youwish to justify. There must be at least one space in the line.

When you justify text in Microsoft Word, the text is aligned with both the left and right margins or with any paragraph indents. Because justifying a short line of text creates large spaces between words, Word does not justify a paragraph containing a single line or the last line of a paragraph.
